West Course at Grenelefe to be Rebuilt

HAINES CITY, FL. The West Course at Grenelefe is a morden ruin. It is a Robert Trent Jones design,and had a number of PGA qualifing events in the 80's. The course was lovely 15 years ago but has sufferd bankruptcy and hurricane damage over the last few year

The resort has been bought by Garrett Kenny, who has hired Arnold Palmer Design Co.He said the 7 Million dollar project will start in November and be finished in a year. The improvements would put the Grenelefe Course on par with other Palmer designed courses.

The redevelopment will include rebuilding 450 condominiums,1870 condos and town houses. Also a 100,000square-foot retail area to be called the Village Center.

The redevelopment will get a new name, Horizons at Grenelefe. They also plan to refurbished a 5o,ooo sq.-foot conference building that is the only one in northeast Polk County.
