Is Tiger out of the Woods?

Not quite yet, his surgeons Dr. Thomas D. Rosenberg and Vernon J. Cooley did the ACL(anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction with a tendon from his right hamstring, in which a procedure was also done in April, just not as extensive. Woods has had problems and pain for ten to twelve years now with his legs and is looking forward to the long-term results his doctors say he will have with finally having the surgery done.

A double stress fracture of the left tibia, due to intense training before the U.S. Open is just one of the things he has had to sustain in his golf career. He also had a benign tumor removed in 1994 and a benign cyst removed along with some fluid in 2002. Although he had won five of six of these last tournaments, it was said that he was actually looking forward to the surgery so that he could get on with his rehabilitation.

Tiger is all braced up and on his crutches for at least the next three weeks and having to take it easy, he tried to fly during his rehab, but his doctors have advised against it due to the increased swelling of his leg.

He is ready to get back "in the swing" of it all, but it will take some time. No specific amount of time has been disclosed yet, but has been said that it will when it is appropriate. Tiger is hoping to be back next year, but will have to bow out of everything through the rest of this year.
