Tiger Wood's Operation

Tiger Woods sustained an injury to his left knee in July of 2007 while running at his home in Orlando.  The instability in his knee caused a tear in the meniscus cartilage, and he had arthroscopic surgery on April 15 to repair that.  Then a double stress fracture was discovered 2 weeks before the U.S. Open. To give the stress fractures time to heal, Tiger needed to be on crutches for 3 weeks and then 3 weeks of limited activity.  But Tiger said he was going to play in the US Open and win, which of course he did.

Since Tiger sustained the ACL injury last year, he has played in 14 tournaments, won 10 of them,  and helped the US win the President's Cup. Tiger Woods has actually played golf with pain for over 12 years.
Tiger's surgery will be the most serious of 3 procedures he has already had on his left knee in the past 5 years.

His doctors say that after his surgery he will be better than ever, and should be healed within 6 months. Tiger hopes that now he will be without pain while playing and after playing golf.

Tiger Woods has come through adversity before and will do so again. He lost his father, got married and became a father himself.  He knows how to deal with life and is a great athlete. His tenacity and his willpower should see him come back better than before his surgery.
