After the third surgery on his left knee, Tiger Woods is expected to be out of commission for at least four to six months. His form on the golf course has ‘went downhill’ dramatically the last two years, which is making people wonder if he will ever recover fully and take control of the game as he has in the past. He is a formidable player and a valuable asset to the sport and it would be a shame to see him not return ‘good as new.’
Since before this last surgery, he had been cutting back somewhat on tournaments to prevent further damage to the cartilage. He has been experiencing quite a bit of pain in his left knee since last year, but was dealing with it the best he could until after the Master’s.
His first surgery in 1994, was to remove a benign tumor in the left knee. In 2002, he had an arthroscopic surgery performed to repair damaged cartilage. His latest surgery was to repair a torn ACL. All three surgeries were performed on the same knee. The doctors believe this surgery was a complete success, but only time will tell.
With the proper post surgery care and therapy, he should be back on the course very soon. His fans, fellow golfers, and anyone else involved in the sport anxiously await his return. To keep his fans informed of his progress, he has posted information pertaining to his surgery and recovery on his web site.
