The major PGA tournaments are the following: The Masters Tour, The U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship. The withdrawal of Tiger Woods from PGA for the rest of the season has had rippling affects on the PGA tournament circuit. Marking for golf events around the world have been greatly impacted by Wood's injury. Individuals who have made wagers with bookmakers regarding Wood's potential wins have had their money refunded to them. The 37th Annual Ryder Cup will be held in Louisville, KY from September 19th through September 21, 2008.

This year the Senior Professional PGA Tournament is being held from October 2nd through October 5th. The Indian Wells, California site more than likely will crown a champion that no one suspected. This greatly impacts the world view. Tiger Woods not playing golf is like watching the New England Patriots attempt to play with out Tom Brady as starting quarterback.

Although many fans are disappointed by Woods being unable to compete, other golfers are taking the opportunity to put their skills on display. Fortunately, Tiger Woods fans were able to see their favorite participate in the Masters. Woods had to withdraw for the remainder of the season due to a double stress fracture and a torn ACL in his left leg. Even with a career ending season, Woods still leads in earnings made by golfers thus far in 2008. Woods had earned up to $6,000,000 prior to taking himself out of action for the remainder of the golfing season.
