Female Golfers

Women have come very far in the world of sports. Women play almost every sport that men play at a professional level, and can be very good at what they do. However, women even at the professional level are facing many issues. Equality issues have definitely been the biggest problem facing women today; the pay, nor the privileges are equal. However golf is becoming a sport that more and more women are participating in. Women such as Michelle Wie, Annika Sorenstam, Nancy Lopez, and Babe Zaharias have become very popular in the world of golf, and their popularity continues to grow.

Perhaps people don't believe that women should participate in some sports for various reasons. Some may feel that a woman's real place is in the home, caring for her family, or at work, providing for her family financially. Whatever the case, some people are just not very accepting of female athletes in general. Nonetheless, more women, and younger women are beginning to join the world of professional sports. They join not only golf, but almost every sport imaginable. This just means that the people, especially the women in our world are ready for change; and whenever someone is ready to make a difference by playing a sport that he or she loves, we should be accepting of that no matter that person's race, gender, or religious background. After all, isn't that what living in America is all about,being able to express who we are, no matter what we look like?
