Jane Geddes

The retired American golfer Jane Geddes was born on February 5, 1960 in Huntington, New York to Gerry and Helen Geddes. During her college days at Florida State University she played with the school’s national championship team and then ended up joining the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in 1981. She improved her golfing skills during the first couple of years of her tour and won runner up three different times during 1984 and 1985. Finally, in 1986 Geddes won the U.S. Women’s Open then ended up having the best year ever during her pro year in 1987. She won five matches and four second place finishes. During her career she had 11 wins and seven of them ended up during the 1986-1987 season. Her wins include two U.S. Women’s Opens, five Kemper Opens, two Jamaica Classics, one Oldsmobile Classic and one Chicago Challenge.

Geddes won twice during her 1991 season, and her last win was during the 1994 Chicago Challenge. She ended up finishing on the top 20 list nine times for top money and had 14 top 10 finishes in major wins in addition to her two major championships. She retired from the LPGA following the 2003 season, and then Geddes went on to the University of South Florida and received her degree in criminology and then later she received her law degree from the Stetson University College of Law also in Florida. As of 2007 she became Senior Director of Tournament Business Affairs of the LPGA and then later was promoted to Vice-President of Competition and has her home in Florida.
