Bob Hope Desert Classic Won By Pat Perez For His First Tour Win

Pat Perez won the Bob Hope Desert Classic on Sunday when he had an eagle on the eighteenth hole. His second shot from 199 yards landed three feet from the hole for a easy putt.He shot a 69 and ended up at 333. That gave him a 3 stroke lead over John Merrick who was unable to get anything going over the last few holes. He ended up with a 67 and a 330.
Steve Stricker was the leader after the fourth round by 3 strokes but he ran into trouble on Sunday with a triple bogey on the 7th hole and a quardruple bogey on the 10th hole. He ended up tied for third with Mike Wier at 28 under.
Pat sat a record for the lowest score after 36 holes with rounds of 61 and 63 for a 124. He was the first player to be -20 after two rounds.
His two day total didn't last long when Steve Stricker shot a 61 and a 62 for a 123 during the third and fourth rounds. He also set a PGA record for low score after 72 holes with a -33.
